Icelandic Bliss
-
Icelandic Bliss is a personal travel design service based in Iceland. I create custom self-drive itineraries that help you experience the country in an authentic way.
-
Each itinerary is tailored to your travel style, interests, and rhythm. Whether you're after dramatic landscapes, peaceful hideaways, or family-friendly adventures, I help you discover Iceland the way you want it.
-
Not at all. I create plans for solo travelers, couples, small groups, and families alike. If you're curious and want an amazing Icelandic journey, I’ll help you shape it.
-
No, I don’t handle bookings myself. Instead, I provide you with a flexible, well-structured plan that includes suggestions for accommodations, timing, and activities. If you’d like, I can also help you think through options and give feedback , but the actual booking stays in your hands.
-
You absolutely can, but many travelers find that Iceland is a bit different than expected. Distances, road conditions, and the weather all play a role in how your trip unfolds. Because I live here, I know how to turn your ideas into something realistic, well-paced, and enjoyable, without the overwhelm.

That really depends on what you’re hoping to see. Summer gives you long days, easier driving, and lots of flexibility. Winter brings shorter days but a chance to see the northern lights and Iceland in a much quieter, snow-covered state. I’m happy to help you figure out what fits best with your plans and pace.
-
Absolutely, especially for curious little explorers. There’s so much space to run, waterfalls to count, and animals to spot. But if this is your dream trip and you want your kids to remember it, I usually recommend waiting until they’re around 4 years or older . Before that, they might not get much out of it and long drives can be tough. With the right timing, though, Iceland becomes pure family magic.
-
Not always, it depends on what you want to do. If you plan to drive on F-roads (into the highlands), a 4x4 is required.
Hiring a 4×4 In winter, is a good idea.
And If you're unsure, I can let you know what works best for your route and the time of year you're visiting. -
Even a short trip can be worthwhile, especially if you're limited on time.
But to really slow down and see more than just the highlights, I recommend at least 7–10 days. -
Layers, always. Icelandic weather can change quickly. A good jacket, waterproof shoes, and a bit of flexibility go a long way. When I design your trip, I’ll also include practical packing tips tailored to the season.
And if you're getting started, I have a free downloadable guide with helpful tips for traveling in Iceland, where packing advice is included.
